Introduction to Swedish Glaze

Faux wood and trompe-l'oeil with Swedish glaze

NEW! Graining and trompe-l’oeil using Swedish Glaze

Overview

Here's an interesting alternative to turpentine and solvents!
We are pleased to host this 3-day training session during which you will discover a technique using a water-based glaze that has all the advantages and confort of oil glazes minus the inconvenient things (recycling of solvents, security measures...).   This glaze can be used by decorative painters for graining and marbling, for creating patinas, for painting trompe-l'oeil as well as paint murals...

To introduce this technique and product, we have the immense pleasure of inviting Mats Carlson, master Swedish decorative painter.

It's been years now since Mats has been using this glaze on a daily basis, not only for the sake of his own health but also for the joy of a clientele that is more and more sensitive to the protection of the environment.

Message from Mats Carlsson:

Transition to water-based materials has meant that we have developed techniques that have significantly reduced the working time, without reducing the quality. Today it is a requirement to be able to perform high quality work in minimum time.  This is a super good glaze, used together with dry pigment you have an open time for 1-2 hours.  It´s thin like water, which makes it possible to make super fine fadings. I've been using this glaze for over 10 years in my daily jobs. Here you have the chance to get to know it - Welcome!
