What exactly is milk paint?

Milk Paint is an ancient paint derived of natural products and containing milk protein (casein), limestone, clay, chalk and natural pigments.  The result is a very durable paint popularly used by modern designers, green consumers and home owners seeking to capture a variety of modern, trendy, antique and textured looks.

It is suitable for both interior and exterior applications when painted on porous surfaces such as wood and is naturally mold resistant. HOW TO:  Simply add water to the powder to create your paint!

Once dry, milk paint (casein paint) should be protected either by applying
a natural oil such as hemp oil, beeswax or varnish.
